I was gonna make a huge journal entry about this using pictures and things but instead I'll just write and submit a collage of photos later or something.
yes so I went to Brighton to see Portugal. The Man !!!!awesomebandcheckthemout <3
WELL it was a really good trip! the journey there just took 2 hours, we were really lucky with traffic.
the B+B we stayed in was really nice - if you step outside THE SEA IS THERE. it was really pretty, and, as I described it, 'sparkly like anime'. the building was like A TOWERRRR and there were six flights of stairs. we got the room right at the top. it was all good though, even though I was panting every time I walked up them!!
We walked to the pier. IT WAS SO HOT. like 30 degrees?! but I wanted to go all the way to the end just so I can say 'I went all the way to the end of Brighton pier!!' and now I have..so I can. yeah. it was very touristified but the sea view was beautiful. :]
Soon enough it was too hot to do anything though so we went back to the B+B to get ready for the show ! I was gonna wear jeans but it was just TOOHOT. and I am a jeans person. :[ but anyway, we got ready then went and ate. with chopsticks.
Then we walked to the venue - early because I NEEDED TO BE RIGHT AT THE FRONT OKAY. I was expecting the odd person to be lining up or something but there was no-one. I sat down and drew on my friend's water bottle to pass the time then I SAW JOHN GOURLEY IN LIKE. SHORTS AND NOTHING ELSE LOLLLLL. I kinda hyperventilated then he disappeared somewhere and came back in a respectable outfit. he must've been sooo hot though, eckkk.
WELL we talked a bit (A BIT, less than 5 minutes but it was still awesome) and ldksfh I told him he wasn't short o man how embarrassing.... idk. he was not short!!! I asked him to sign my arm (which he was like 'REALLY? owo' about) so he drew one of his faces hehe
u no
like
the faces
here? but with two eyes? and no wrinkles? lsdhkf I'll post the photo dump soon.
but it was SO COOL I got to meet him anyway!! in the end I felt so sorry for the band though. NO-ONE WAS LINING UP. AT ALL. the doors even opened and there was no-one there aaah. when I went inside IT WAS SO SMALL I didn't even know shows existed like this. there was no backstage, no security, nothing like that! the bands used the same entrance as everyone else and just climbed on stage. at this point there were about 20 people inside? I WOULD HAVE TAKEN PICTURES but everyone was just standing there like |: so I thought it'd be really weird...if I did...
By the time Portugal. The Man came on there were about 50 people asjkdg it was like A DREAM they're one of my favourite bands ever and yesss. there were five moshers, including me, and a few people singing at the back but like no-one knew them!
WELL soon enough I got as close as possible - like knocking my knees against the stage close - directly in front of John haha! he smiled down at me it was adorable. (I wish I could have gotten better photos of the other band members though ngggh) anyway he... he played guitar like seriously out of this world I was watching thinking HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??
I wish I filmed it, but I put my camera away by this part and just kinda ~lost myself in the music~ you know. WHICH WAS AMAZING BY THE WAY. seriously I've seen some of P.TM's live stuff on youtube and stuff and it was NOTHING like this, they made it sound really like heavy rock??? but more amazing?? and they played mostly so one song linked onto the next and they were just so in sync with eachother, it was like woahhh
OKAY I'M RAMBLING!! well all in all it was an Amazing show with a capital A! I was super surprised there were hardly ANY people that knew their music fjkhfjg I THOUGHT they would have a few more fans..yeah. ): I guess it's my cue to say go check of Portugal. The Man?? they deserve way more fans!
..AFTER THE SHOW I DIDN'T SLEEP AS I WAS PUMPED ON ADRENALINE AND SWEAT AND GOODNESS. AND THERE WERE SEAGULLS. LOTS OF THEM. GOING PEW PEW PEWWW PEW PEWWW.
The next day we went shopping!! it was really good because you got all the shops like primark, h&m, topshop then you got all these indie shop type things? IT WAS SO COOL. but I didn't have much time/money aaah D: I didn't take my camera, but I wish I did - I saw so much ~culture~, not the tourist crap. and rainbows stuck to shop windows. lots of rainbows.
we went to the lanes and my mum got a plain white cardigan for £50, I WAS SO PISSED llkdhf I'm a huge bargain hunter and I was like NO it's PLAIN you can buy it ANYWHERE for like £20!!!!!
I despair.
It was really fun though, now me and my friend wanna go down when the pride festival thing is on and pretend to be lesbians and start a band called italy. the girl (J/K..... but we do want to start a band!)
AND IT WAS AWWWLLLLL GOOD.
It kinda sucks being back here.. at least I have internet? no room though, it's been taken over with redecoratingness.
STILL.
THIS IS JUST THE LONGEST JOURNAL EVER. 8D
